Towing Legislation information
If you passed your driving test on or after January 1st 1997, a separate test, known as a b+e test needs to be passed, to legally tow a trailer with a maximum authorised mass (mam) over 750 kg, mam, meaning the total legal allowable weight of the trailer and load combined.
